Chenier "Klie" Kliebert is a 2023/24 Obama Leader USA and Co-Founder of Imagine Water Works (IWW), an organization that reimagines the future through art, science, and connection. As IWW's founding Executive Director, Klie has led most of IWW’s programs from their inception to today, focusing on climate, land stewardship, and disaster readiness and response. Since 2018 their work has resulted in a Mutual Aid Response Network of nearly 10,000 Louisiana residents and the distribution of over $350,000 to BIPOC and LGBTQ individuals in response to intersecting social and environmental crises. 

They are a published author, and as part of their ongoing effort to uplift mutual aid strategies and change the U.S. relief and recovery system to one that is more efficient and equitable, they co-authored "Mutual Aid: A Grassroots Model for Justice and Equity in Emergency Management" in 2022. Klie is passionate about building networks of solidarity and telling the story of Louisiana—particularly with a decolonial racial and gender analysis.
