Tanya McVeigh Peterson, Esq. is dedicated to connecting visitors with wildlife, inspiring care for nature and advancing conservation. As President and Executive Director of the San Francisco Zoo, she oversees an educational facility that attracts over 900,000 visitors annually. After earning a law degree from UC Hastings College of Law, she pursued a legal career at a large firm and Hewlett-Packard. During that time Peterson served as Vice Chair of the Zoo board and joined the staff in 2008. She and her husband recently co-chaired the Centennial Celebration of San Francisco City Hall.
