Steve Connell is an acclaimed spoken word artist who believes story is an act of survival. A two-time National Poetry Champion, a celebrated host and improv comic, and a transformative entertainer and speaker whose live performances are as dynamic as the words he delivers, he is about to start his third year as the Poet Laureate of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. With private performances for Norman Lear, President Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Maya Angelou, James Cameron, Quincy Jones and President Obama, amongst others, his work has been seen on ABC, HBO, MTV, and performed live at Sundance, TEDMED, Kennedy Center, and The White House. Corporate giants like Sony/Universal, Pioneer, Sonic, Farmers and Gap Inc. are among the many companies amazed by Steve’s ability to entertain & inform with immersive multimedia speeches & performances.

His most recent theatrical work “imperfect” had its World Premiere at the Lincoln Center; his high impact dance theater piece “Transit Space”, created with Diavolo Dance Theater, toured the world in two languages, and he recently returned from Paris where he performed as one of 8 poets selected to represent LA at the Olympics. His celebrated piece “We Are The Lions” now has 10+ million views & was performed at the UN; his first short film, “the universe is chewing”, was awarded a 2019 Best Shorts Humanitarian Award, and his second, “24orce Of Will”, created to honor Kobe Bryant was just released; He is currently in the studio working with his band KillThePoets on their debut album, and touring on behalf of the New York Times Best Seller “What If We Get It Right?” for which he contributed a poem called “Living Earth."
