Rahul Young is the Director of Local Engagement at Rewiring America, where he leads the Local Government Leaders for Electrification Coalition within the Community team.
Young has spent over twenty-five years working at the intersection of climate change and local government in for-profit, non-profit, and municipal roles. He was the City of Berkeley, California’s first Green Building Coordinator. He then spent ten years at ICF building a corporate sustainability program, and designing and managing energy efficiency programs for cities and utilities. More recently, he was the Chief Operating Officer at Tides, and the Deputy Director at the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition.
Young has an M.S. in Energy Engineering and a B.A. in Public Policy from Stanford University. He was born in Indiana, grew up in New Jersey, and now lives in San Francisco with his partner, their two daughters, and their cat Koko.
Young has a deep and abiding love for low-talent karaoke and dragging his family along on epic hikes up beautiful mountains around the world.
