Porter Fox wants to save skiing, but more importantly he wants skiers to save the world. As the author of Deep: The Story of Skiing and the Future of Snow, Fox captured the 8,000-year-old sport of skiing, from prehistoric Norwegian hunters to present-day freeriders on the Rocky Mountains, and how climate disruption is threatening the sport. Fox has written about snow sports for many years in publications like the New York Times Magazine, The Believer, and National Geographic Adventure.
Fox edits the award-winning literary travel writing journal, Nowhere, in Brooklyn. He graduated with an MFA in fiction from The New School in 2004
