Director, Thriving Earth Exchange AGU (American Geophysical Union)

Dr. Natasha Udu-gama is the Director of AGU Thriving Earth Exchange, a global community science program that connects communities with scientists to co-create solutions for local challenges related to natural hazards, climate change, and environmental justice. She leads a dynamic team that supports hundreds of community science projects around the world, leveraging the American Geophysical Union's expertise in Earth and space science. She also fosters strategic partnerships and helps other organizations adapt this community science approach. 

Dr. Udu-gama has been with Thriving Earth Exchange since 2014 and took the helm as Director of the program in 2022. She brings over 10 years of experience in disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, community engagement, and multi-sector collaboration. 

She holds a Ph. D. in Environment and Geography from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia, where she specialized in public private partnerships for community-owned early warning systems. She also holds an MSc in Disaster Management from Cranfield University in Shrivenham, UK and B.A. in International Development Studies from The George Washington University, Washington, DC. 

Dr. Udu-gama is passionate about enabling communities to thrive in a changing world. Ultimately, she is an avid seeker of consciousness.
