As the Executive Director of the Sierra Club, Michael Brune heads America's largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization. Brune brings with him decades of grassroots organizing experience. His first environmental job was as an organizer for Greenpeace. In 1998, Brune joined Rainforest Action Network, where he ultimately served for seven years as executive director. Under his leadership, RAN won more than a dozen other key commitments from some of America's largest corporations.
Brune is the author of Coming Clean: Breaking America's Addiction to Oil and Coal. He earned dual degrees at West Chester University in Pennsylvania in Economics and Finance.
