There’s a lot of so-called ‘environmental victims’ in rural China because they have no power, no resources or knowledge to fight back against pollution or the consequences of climate change.
Lican Liu believes that the power of environmental protection lies in the hands of citizens. As Co-founder and Programs Director for the Greenovation Hub in China, Liu aims combine of wisdom and resources of civil society, governments and corporations to help China walk down the green path. He also serves as project coordinator of Internews’ Earth Journalism Network, an organization dedicated to empowering journalists from affected communities.
Liu's most recent book, The Sick Villages in a Strong State, is the first book in Chinese that reveals the so-called “cancer village” problem in China.
