Ken Cook believes that GMO labeling doesn't mean expensive food. As the President of the Environmental Working Group, Cook works to empower people to live healthier lives in a healthier environment through consumer choice and civic action. Under his leadership, the organization has pioneered the use of digital technologies to expose the harms done by ill-conceived crop subsidies, crop insurance and runaway agricultural pollution. Prior to EWG, Cook was the principal architect of landmark provisions of the 1985 farm bill.
Cook is a board member of Food Policy Action and Organic Voices and the Amazon Conservation Team. He earned a B.A. in history, B.S. in agriculture and M.S. in soil science at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
