Jon Shenk

Jon Shenk is an Emmy-winning documentary filmmaker and cinematographer. He most recently co-directed with Bonni Cohen on Audrie & Daisy, a story of two life-changing online bullying incidents. Previously, he directed and shot The Island President, the story of President Mohamed Nasheed of the Maldives, and his battle to help his country survive rising sea levels that could submerge the nation of islands forever. His films also include The Lost Boys Of Sudan and The Beginning, a chronicle of the making of Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace.
Shenk’s films have won the Independent Spirit Award and Best Documentary at the Toronto International Film Festival. A member of the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts, and Sciences, he has produced and photographed dozens of documentaries for PBS, the BBC, A&E, Bravo, CBS, NBC, and National Geographic.
