Jiang Lin thinks the main challenge is designing and building a city that satisfies the needs of the people and is attractive as well. As Senior Vice President for China Strategy and Analysis at the Energy Foundation, Lin's research covers energy efficiency standards, low-carbon development scenarios, and energy policy analysis. Prior to his current position, Jiang worked with the China Energy Group at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory where he was a lead researcher, serving as an advisor to numerous Chinese agencies, the World Bank, and the UN Development Program.

Lin received a Ph.D. in Demography from the University of California at Berkeley, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China.
