As Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations and Environment, Jackalyne Pfannenstiel is responsible for formulating department-wide policies, procedures, advocacy and strategic plans, as well as overseeing all DON functions and programs related to installations, safety, energy and environment. Prior to this position, Pfannenstiel was a chairman of the State of California Energy Commission, a state regulatory body with authority over power plant licensing, building and appliance efficiency standards, and energy policy development. She brings with her decades of experience in the energy field, including 20 years with PG&E.
Pfannenstiel graduated from Clark University with a B.A. in economics and the University of Hartford with an M.A. in economics.
