Hal Harvey believes in the power of effective energy policy. As the CEO of Energy Innovation and author of Designing Climate Solutions: A Policy Guide for Low-Carbon Energy, Harvey aims to accelerate progress in clean energy by supporting the policies that most effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Prior to his current position, Harvey occupied a variety of roles that inform his current work, such as serving as environment program director at the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the founder and president of the Energy Foundation, and the founder and CEO of ClimateWorks Foundation-an organization which was also an early and important supporter of Climate One.
Harvey is a Senior Fellow for Energy and the Environment at the Paulson Institute. He is president of the board of directors of the New-Land Foundation, and chairman of the board of MB Financial Corporation. Harvey has B.S. and M.S. degrees from Stanford University in engineering, specializing in energy planning.
