Gabriel Metcalf thinks the sharing economy is a powerful trend towards using goods more efficiently. As President and CEO of San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR), Metcalf has led the organization through a dramatic growth spurt. SPUR is a non-profit membership organization that promotes good planning and good government through research, education and advocacy. Prior to working at SPUR, he worked for The Bay Institute, an environmental organization focused on California water policy.
Metcalf was also a co-founder and former board chairman of City CarShare. He earned a master's degree in city planning from UC Berkeley.
