As the Vice Chair of the California State Water Board, Fran Spivy-Weber aims to restore the quality of California’s water resources and drinking water for the protection of the environment, public health, and all beneficial uses for present and future generations. She came to the role with decades of experience working to preserve natural ecology, from being a legislative assistant for the Animal Welfare Institute to serving as the Director of international programs for the National Audubon Society and consequently as Executive Director of the Mono Lake Committee. Spivy-Weber pursued water advocacy as a member of the Bay-Delta Public Advisory Committee and co-chair of its Water Use Efficiency Committee.
Spivy-Weber is currently serving as Chair of the Water Policy Center Advisory Council with the Public Policy Institute of California, as a member of the Advisory Board of Syzergy and as a member of the Advisory Committee on Recycled Water and Direct Augmentation of Surface Waters and Feasibility of Direct Potable Reuse.
