Edith Buhs

Electrification Coach, Rewiring America; Decarbonization Advisor, Abode Energy Management

Edith Buhs has helped young organizations turn innovative ideas into national models thanks to years of experience in the world of social enterprises.

Her hands-on experience includes transforming century-old buildings in Boston into high-performing, electrified homes. Along the way she became an expert in building science, energy efficiency and heat pumps. She specializes in making these complex topics accessible, helping homeowners take actionable steps toward creating cozier, healthier, greener homes.

Buhs also serves as the lead trainer for the Electric Coach Course with Rewiring America, where she’s helping build a nationwide team of volunteer “electric coaches” who guide neighbors through the process of updating their homes. Over 1,000 people have gone through this program.

When she’s not focused on the energy transition, she loves exploring New England, biking with her family, taking urban walks, and reading in the hammock. Buhs holds a master in public administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and a bachelor of arts in Psychology and Women’s Studies from the University of Illinois.

Her favorite green appliances? Her induction stove and clothesline.
