Annie Petsonk

International Counsel, Environmental Defense Fund

As International Counsel for the Environmental Defense Fund, Annie Petsonk coordinates EDF’s advocacy efforts on international environmental law, international agreements and institutions and works to develop international laws that provide economic incentives for environmental protection. Petsonk brings her expertise to the position as an internationally recognized expert on aviation and climate policy, including the development and implementation of market-based measures that tap human ingenuity in favor of protecting the environment. Prior to EDF, she served in the Executive Office of the President, the U.S. Department of Justice, the United Nations Environment Programme, and the private bar. As well as her current role, Petsonk also teaches at George Washington University Law School.

Petsonk received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.A. from The Colorado College, which also awarded her an honorary degree.
