Will Climate Fiction Change People's Minds?
"I would be cautiously optimistic that it can change minds because I think it’s a little bit of a guess," said Jason Mark, editor at Earth Island Journal. Mark and science fiction author Kim Stanley Robinson discuss how climate fiction, or clifi, can help influence people's opinions. "Reading fiction is a very powerful experience, so I believe that if it's done right it can change one's view, you come back to reality and you have a kind of double vision. You have your normal daily vision and then you have your science-fiction vision, the future, interposed on it or behind it," said Robinson.
