Tom Nolan

Chairman of the Board, San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency

As Chairman of the Board for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, Tom Nolan serves as a steward for the city's transportation needs. Nolan brings with him decades of experience, from being Executive Director of Project Open Hand to serving two full terms as a member of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors. Nolan joined the SFMTA Board of Directors in 2006 and was elected Chairman in 2009. He currently serves as the SFMTA’s representative on the Caltrain Joint Powers Board.

Nolan is a former member of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, the SamTrans Board and the Caltrain Joint Powers Board. Chairman Nolan has long been recognized as a champion of public transit and is a regular Muni rider.
