Sven Thesen believes that we need to electrify our transportation system as quickly as possible. As a former member of the Business Development team at Better Place, Thesen worked diligently to reduce global dependency on oil through the creation of a market-based transportation infrastructure making electric vehicles more convenient. Prior to joining Better Place, Thesen ran PG&E's Electric Drive group, guiding the company to become the first utility to demonstrate vehicle to grid technology.

Thesen received his bachelor of science in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University. His work in reducing diesel emissions through the electrification of agricultural equipment earned him the 2006 Governor's Environmental and Economic Leadership Award.
