Michael Stoll

Executive Director, San Francisco Public Press

Michael Stoll is executive director of the San Francisco Public Press, a nonprofit newspaper and website that produces award-winning investigations on education, environment, housing and city politics, and partners with other public media. He has taught journalism at two local universities and researched media ethics for Grade the News at Stanford. He has reported for the Hartford Courant, Philadelphia Inquirer, San Francisco Examiner, Columbia Journalism Review, Christian Science Monitor, San Francisco Magazine and the New York Times, and done fellowships with the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, California Endowment and Sulzberger Leadership Program. He is a graduate of Columbia Journalism School.
