Michael Jones believes that floating desalination plants make perfect sense. As the Director of the Maritime Alliance in San Diego, Jones aims to develop blue jobs by promoting sustainable, science-based ocean industries. The Maritime Alliance primarily achieves this through outreach to publicize the maritime technology industry regionally, nationally and internationally in a collaborative manner. 

Jones earned a B.A. from the University of Arizona and an M.A. from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
