Luis Martinez

Student Activist

Luis Martinez believes in the poswer of individual actions to create societal change. As a mentor with the Teen Environmental Education Mentorship program,  Martinez teaches weekly lessons to Bay Area youth. Weaving together interactive games with environmental lessons, he covers important environmental concepts such as natural selection, overfishing and ecological competition. In his studies, he is a part of an environmental pathway that takes initiative on environmental school projects from maintaining the food garden, to enforcing energy efficient habits and increasing awareness on campus about the student body’s carbon footprint.

Martinez is currently working on a short film related to climate change and the power of the individual.
